Glenwood Ave Arts Fest

Come to the WeeGroove Dance Party at the Glenwood Ave Arts Fest this weekend!

Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 on the South Stage.

I will be singing 30 minutes of our favorite dance songs and some of our favorite sing-a-long songs. Then everyone can go home, eat lunch, take a nap and come back for more music in the afternoon.

Admission is FREE.

Check out the full entertainment schedule.

See you there!

Welcome Little Marvels!

I am so happy to announce Little Marvels has joined the WeeGroove family.

Music classes happen at Little Marvels on Friday morning and Thursday afternoons. Parents are always welcome to join us for music class to hear the songs we are working on.

If your child is part-time and misses music class, please speak to your child's teacher about bringing your child in to join their class for music. I am always happy to see part-time parents and children.

Hopefully, your child will start singing some of our songs at home. I wanted to share a few of our regular songs so you can sing along with your child (or just decipher what they are singing).

Skinamarink

Skinamarink-a-dinky-dink.
Skinamarinky-doo!
I love you!
Skinamarink-a-dinky-dink.
Skinamarinky-doo!
I love you!
I love you in the morning and in the afternoon.
I love you in the evening and underneath the moon.
OH! Skinamarink-a-dinky-dink.
Skinamarinky-doo!
I love you!
And you! Boo-boo-be-do!

Open Shut Them

Open, shut them. Open, shut them.
Give a little clap, clap, clap.
Open, shut them. Open, shut them
Put them in your lap, lap, lap.

Creep them. Creep them.
Slowly, creep them.
Right up to your chin, chin, chin.
Open wide your little mouth.
But do not let them in!

Wave them. Wave them.
Really wave them, Right up in to the sky, sky, sky,
Wave them once. Now Blow a kiss.
It’s time to say good bye, bye, bye!

I Use My Hands
(Tune: When The Saints go Marching)

I ask for more. I ask for more.
I ask for more. I ask for more.
I use my hands to tell you what I need.
I ask for more. I ask for more.

I use this song to teach sign language. We sing this song with lots of useful words for infants, toddlers and preschoolers to learn. We sign: more, stop, help, eat, all done and gentle.

When I Hear the Music

My hands like to clap. My hands like to clap.
When I hear the music, my hands like to clap.

My toes like to tap. My toes like to tap.
When I hear the music, my toes like to tap.

My head likes to nod. My head likes to nod.
When I hear the music, my head likes to nod.

My shoulders like to move. My shoulders like to move.
When I hear the music, my shoulders like to move.

My body likes to sway. My body likes to sway.
When I hear the music, my body likes to sway,
My shoulders like to move, my head likes to nod,
My toes like to tap, my hands like to clap!

I Wake Up My Hands

Shake Your Sillies Out

We’re gonna shake, shake, shake your sillies out!
We’re gonna shake, shake, shake your sillies out!
And wiggle your waggles away!

Other Verses:
Nod, nod, nod your naughties out.
Clap, clap, clap your crazies out.
Jump, jump, jump your jiggles out.
Stretch, stretch, stretch and yawn again.

I Use My Hands
(Tune: When the Saints go Marching in)

I ask for more. I ask for more.
I ask for more. I ask for more.
I use my hands to tell you what I need.
I ask for more. I ask for more.

Other Verses:
I need to stop.
I ask for help.
It’s time to eat.
I need to wait.
We are all done.

Piggies
(Tune: Camptown Races)

Five little piggies in a tub.
Oink, oink. Oink, oink.
Cleaning up with a scrub-a-dub-dub.
Oink, oink, oink, oink, oink!
Wash your ears and tail.
Don’t forget your snout!
One little piggy is all clean.
Time for him to get out!

It is Summer
(Tune: If  Your Happy and You Know It!)

It is Summer and it’s time to take a swim!
It is Summer and it’s time to take a swim!
It is summer that’s the season!
We don’t need a better reason!
It is summer and it’s time to take a swim!

I can count to four.
